BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's cross country squad opened the 2024 season by finishing third of six schools in the Lehigh University Invitational run at the Goodman Campus Friday evening.
How It Happened
- The Hounds scored 72 points and were the top non-NCAA Division I squad in the race. St. Joseph's University was first with 29 points while the host Mountain Hawks were second with 30 points
- Senior Owen Nahf was eighth of the 92 runners with a time of 18:45.7 on the 6,000-meter course
- Senior Cole Stanchina took 14th in his first race for the Blue & Grey in 18:55.4 while sophomore Nathan Moore placed 16th in a time of 18:59.1
- Senior Nathan Hajel raced to 25th overall in 19:11.1 while graduate student Josh Mangini finished 27th in a time of 19:16.0
- Senior Geoffrey Kleinberg was 33rd in the meet in 19:32.2 while sophomore Gavin Hefferan took 45th in 19:46.8
- Freshman Riley Trigo finished 48th in a time of 19:52.7 while senior Jake Farrell was one spot back in 19:52.8 and junior Joseph Allegro placed 52nd in 20:13.5
- Freshman Jake Mattes took 63rd in his first collegiate race in 20:35.0 while freshman Grayson Kerzmann was two spots back in 20:37.4
- The Greyhounds had six other runners in the race with junior Jackson Royds recording a time of 20:50.8, sophomore Michael Schippnick running 21:00.0, freshman Charles Champagne finishing in 21:02.5, junior Jackson Gaffney racing in 21:59.7, sophomore Jordan Gagner running 22:09.5 and sophomore Xander DiMatteo finishing in 22:22.4
