Leonard, Sutter Named Landmark Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Senior jumper Micah Leonard (York, Pa./William Allen HS) and sophomore sprinter Brielle Sutter (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook HS) of the Moravian College women's track & field team has been named the first Landmark Conference Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week for the 2012-13 season for their performances last week.

Leonard won two events at the non-scoring Lehigh University Season Opener last Friday evening.  Leonard won the long jump with a career long leap of 5.61 meters (18 feet, five inches), the second longest jump in school history, and she also captured first in the triple jump at a career best 11.69 meters (38 feet, 4 ¼ inches), also the second best distance in school history.  Leonard already owned the Landmark Conference record in each event.

Sutter was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.76, and she was part of Moravian's winning 4x400-meter relay team that posted a time of 4:10.04.  Sutter also tied for seventh in the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.36 seconds.

The Greyhounds are not scheduled to return to action until Friday, January 18th when they travel to the Orange & Maroon Classic being hosted by Susquehanna University.
