Leonard Sets School Mark in Triple Jump at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. --- Senior Micah Leonard set the school record in the triple jump and turned in two of the Greyhounds' seven ECAC qualifying marks to lead the Moravian College women's indoor track & field team at the non-scoring Princeton University Invitational Saturday.

Leonard was third in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying, school and Landmark Conference record distance of 11.82 meters (38 feet, 9 1/2 inches). The mark improved Leonard's standing to tied for fourth in the nation in the event on the Track & Field Results Reporting System national list. The top 16 individuals and top 12 relay teams on the list as of March 3rd will earn berths to the 2013 NCAA Division III National Championship meet on March 8th & 9th at North Central (Ill.) College. 

Leonard was fifth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.50 meters (18 feet, 1/2) inch, which is now 14th in the nation on the TFRRS list.

In the pole vault, the Greyhounds had two ECAC qualifying marks. Junior Allison Vanek was fourth at a height of 3.60 meters (11 feet, 9 3/4 inches) while sophomore Hailey Kester tied for fifth at 3.40 meters (11 feet, 1 3/4 inches) to reach the ECAC qualifying standard. Sophomore Dana Fineman was tied for ninth in the pole vault at 3.20 meters (ten feet, six inches).

On the track, sophomore Morgan Redmond was tenth in the in 60-meter hurdles with an ECAC qualifying time of 9.42 seconds while freshman Corinne Glass finished 14th in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.55 seconds. Sophomore Emily Lambright took tenth in the mile run in 5:26.71. Glass, Redmond and sophomores Brielle Sutter and Brianna Wright combined to finish third in the 4x400-meter relay in an ECAC qualifying time of 4:06.22.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, February 23rd as the squad looks to win its sixth straight Landmark Conference championship in the 2013 meet hosted by Susquehanna University starting at 10:00 a.m.
