Women Win 4 Events at Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team returned to action after seven weeks and had captured four individual event titles at the Susquehanna University Orange & Maroon Classic Friday night.

Sophomore Hailey Kester captured the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying height of 3.34 meters (10 feet, 11 1/2 inches) while freshman Corinne Glass won the 200-meter dash in 27.00 seconds. Senior Micah Leonard captured first place in both the long jump at an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.24 meters (17 feet, 2 1/4 inches) and the triple jump with another ECAC qualifying mark of 11.30 meters (37 feet, one inch).

Junior Allison Vanek was tied for second in the pole vault at 3.19 meters (10 feet, 5 1/2 inches), and she also placed seventh in the long jump at 4.73 meters (15 feet, 6 1/4 inches). Sophomore Dana Fineman was sixth in the pole vault at 3.04 meters (nine feet, 11 3/4 inches) while junior Amanda Smilgis was tied for tenth at 2.59 meters (eight feet, six inches).  Sophomore Jenny Kratch was eighth in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 11.32 meters (37 feet, 1 3/4 inches), and she also finished eighth in the shot put with a distance of 9.79 meters (32 feet, 1 1/2 inches).

On the track, sophomore Brianna Wright was the runner-up in the 60 meter dash in a time of 8.27 seconds while Glass was third in 8.33 seconds. Sophomore Morgan Redmond took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.07 seconds after a time 9.85 seconds in the preliminaries. The trio of Wright, Glass and Redmond teamed up with sophomore Brielle Sutter to finish third in the 4x200-meter dash in 1:52.89.

Sophomore Emily Lambright was sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.07 while sophomore Jessie Goldberg took seventh in the 3,000-meter run on 11:30.64. Sophomore Clarie DelCasale was tenth in the 3,000-meter run in 11:58.21.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, January 26th at the Thomson Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware.
