BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College baseball team dropped a 13-2 non-conference decision to visiting Rutgers-Camden Wednesday afternoon at Gillespie Field in a game shortened to eight innings due to darkness.

The Greyhounds, now 10-8 after falling for the first time in six contests, had five hits in the game including doubles from senior center fielder Austin Markowski, senior third baseman Tim Heard, junior second baseman Ian Csencsits and freshman right fielder Robert Roman.

Moravian sent nine pitchers to the mound in the contest with sophomore Rodney Berger making the start and recording one strikeout. Junior Connor Morrohad two strikeouts in his time on the mound while seniors Brendon Caraway, Kevin Shields and Billy Roethke, sophomores Kyle Serman and Kevin Brandt and freshman Kyle Petsch all had one strikeout. Freshman Scott Poulson worked a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh for the Greyhounds.

Rutgers-Camden jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

The Blue and Grey would get on the board in the bottom of the third frame when Markowski led off with a double and raced home on an RBI ground out by sophomore shortstop Michael Miceli.

The Scarlet Raptors responded with the three runs in the top of the fourth to stretch their edge to 7-1.

Moravian scored its other run in the bottom half of the fourth frame when Heard led off with a double and Csencsits followed with an RBI double.

Rutgers-Camden plated three runs in the top of the sixth and three more in the eighth to finish off the scoring.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, Match 30 when the squad hosts Susquehanna University to begin a three-game Landmark Conference series. First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader is slated for 12:30 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
