Hounds Fall in Hard-Fought Landmark Match vs. Elizabethtown

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Elizabethtown College Saturday afternoon on the HUB Quad in the first meeting between the schools as Landmark Conference opponents.

The squads played a scoreless first half on the pitch with both squads just missing opportunities to take a lead. For the Hounds, freshman forward Chris Cella had a shot slip just wide of the left post in the 19th minute while the Blue Jays hit a post and a crossbar in the first 45 minutes as Moravian junior goalie Brian Boland had two saves.

The Greyhounds came out quick after the intermission with freshman midfielder Brett Lubben firing a shot that was blocked just 49 seconds into the second half. However, the Blue Jays broke the scoreless ties in the 65th minute. Moravian had a shot to tie in the 77th minute but junior forward Andrew Arcell's shot was wide to the left.

Boland finished with five saves for the Hounds.

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Wednesday, October 8 in another Landmark Conference match as the squad travels to Long Island for a 7:00 p.m. match at The United States Merchant Marine Academy.
