Donchez, King, Mohr & Zein Named to Landmark Conference Spring All-Academic Team

2013 Landmark Conference Spring All-Academic Team

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College seniors Jacob Donchez, Travis King and Shannen Mohr and junior Katie Zien have been named to the 2013 Landmark Conference Spring All-Academic Team.

A total of 32 Landmark Conference student-athletes were named to the Spring All-Academic Team. Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark fall sports and must be a sophomore or older with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The senior class was the most represented on the All-Academic Team with 23 selections. There are six from the junior class while three sophomores were also selected to the team. In addition all eight spring sports sponsored by the Landmark Conference are represented with at least one selection and nine are repeat selections after being honored previously on a Spring All-Academic Team. The Landmark Conference selects an All-Academic Team for each of the three athletics seasons during the year.

Donchez helped Moravian to its sixth straight Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship by placing sixth in both the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs at the 2013 Landmark Championships. Donchez is a nine-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, and he is a seven-time member of the Dean's List at Moravian. Donchez graduated two weeks ago with a degree in biochemistry.

King was a Landmark All-Conference First Team honoree in the 4x100-meter relay and a Second Team selection as the runner-up in the triple jump at the Landmark Championships. He is a six-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll (three winter and three spring), and he is on the All-Academic Team for the second time this year after earning a spot on the Winter All-Academic Team. King is also a three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll selection as a member of the Moravian football team. King will be competing later this week at the 2013 NCAA Division III National Championships in the triple jump for the first time in his career. King also graduated two weeks ago with a degree in business management.

Mohr helped the Moravian softball team to its 19th straight postseason appearance and 13th straight 30-win season. An All-American as a sophomore, Mohr hit .295 this season with 18 hits, eight runs, four doubles and 13 RBI, and Mohr finished her career with a school record 74 walks. She was a three-time Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll selection and was also honored on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete Team. Mohr graduated two weeks ago with a degree in accounting and a minor in management.

Zien, who was named to the 2013 Women's Tennis All-Conference Second Team in singles, missed the fall portion of the season while studying abroad but she returned this spring to post a 6-3 record at second singles with a 3-3 mark in Landmark matches. Zien, who was on the All-Conference First Team in doubles last year, also had a 6-3 record in doubles this season, and Zien has a career singles mark of 28-17 for the Greyhounds. Zien is a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll and has been a Dean's List student four times. Zien is working on a degree in economics and a minor in Spanish.
