Men's Track & Field Goes For Fourth Straight Landmark Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team will compete for its fourth straight Landmark Conference Indoor Championship this Saturday. The meet is hosted by Susquehanna University and is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

2012 Track Athlete of the Year Donald Noble will lead the Greyhounds in the 2013 Landmark Championships. Noble has won the mile run and 5,000 meter run in 2012 and 2011. Noble currently holds the second fastest time in the Landmark in the mile run at 4:25.83 and the fastest time in the 5,000 meter at 15:10.29. Sophomore Dillon Farrell has the fastest time at 4:25.04 in the mile. Farrell also has the second fastest time in the 5,000 meters at 15:34.74, and he will also compete in the 800 meter run.

Junior Kristopher Joint is a two-time defending Landmark indoor champ in the triple jump. He broke the Moravian and Landmark record in the triple jump this year with a distance of 14.91 meters (48 feet, 11 inches). Joint will also compete in the long jump as he holds the longest leap of 7.20 meters (23 feet, 7 ½ inches). Senior Travis King won the Landmark triple jump in 2010, and currently has the second best distance at 14.22 meters (46 feet, 8 inches).

Senior Jonathan Heberling is the defending champion in the high jump and the 2010 champ in the long jump. Heberling has best mark in the high jump at 1.94 meters (6 feet, 4 ¼ inches) while holding the second best distance in the long jump at 6.74 meters (22 feet, 1 ½ inch). Freshman Jason Fuehring has the third best distance in the triple jump at 13.37 meters (43 feet, 10 ½ inches) and fifth best in the high jump at 1.78 meters (5 feet, 10 inches). He will also compete in the long jump. Sophomore Chris Ossont will also contribute in the triple jump for the Hounds.

Junior David Cariello has the fastest time in the Landmark in the 60 meter hurdles at 8.60 seconds. Cariello will also compete in the pole vault and the long jump. He has the second best height in the pole vault at 4.25 meters (13 feet, 11 inches) while he has the third best leap in the long jump at 6.70 meters (21 feet, 11 ¾ inches). Freshman Ryan Karnopp holds the best height in the pole vault at 4.30 meters (14 feet, 1 ¼ inches). Classmate Chris Voda will also compete in the pole vault.

Junior Yacine Zerdoum holds down the sprints for Moravian with the fastest 400 meters time at 50.37. He also had the third best Landmark time in the 200 meters at 23.34 and seventh fastest in the 60 meters at 7.37. Freshman Albert Myers holds the fifth fastest time in the 60 meters at 7.29 while senior Justin Taylor is right behind him with a time of 7.36 seconds. Freshmen John Barr, Tyler Dwyer and Gavin Bailey will also participate in the sprint events for Moravian.

Junior Timothy Lorah will lead the Greyhounds in the throwing events. Lorah ranks fourth in the Landmark in the weight throw and the shot put with distances of 13.43 meters (44 feet, ¾ inch) and 13.22 meters (43 feet, 4 ½ inches), respectively. Senior Tyler Potterton and freshman Matt Dill will also contribute in the throws for Moravian.
