Men's Track & Field Selected to Repeat as Landmark Conference Outdoor Champions

TOWSON, Md. – The Moravian College men's outdoor track & field team is looking for its sixth straight Landmark Conference title this season. The league coaches have picked the Greyhounds to repeat with four first place votes and 47 points.

Susquehanna finished second in the poll with 41 points and the two remaining first place votes while the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy has been picked third with 29 points.

Moravian returns senior Donnie Noble (Souderton, Pa./Souderton HS), 2013 Landmark Indoor Track Co-Athlete of the Year, and sophomore Dillon Farrell (North Wales, Pa./Wissahickon HS), the 2012 Landmark Outdoor Rookie of the Year, in the distance events. Seniors Jonathan Heberling (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh HS) and Travis King (Wilmington, Del./Concord HS) along with junior Kristopher Joint (Bethlehem, Pa./Parkland HS) have all won Landmark titles in the jumps both indoors and outdoors to anchor Moravian's jumping squad. Most recently, Joint qualified for the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships in the long and triple jump and finished in the top 10 in both events with an All-American honor in the long jump for a sixth place finish. Junior transfer David Cariello (Morristown, N.J./Morristown HS) has been a solid addition that won the pole vault and 60-meter hurdles during the Landmark Indoor Championships.

Susquehanna is coming off of second place finishes at last year's outdoor meet and this year's indoor meet. The Crusaders return Ken Schetroma, the 2012 Landmark Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year along with NCAA qualifier Jared Minori. Freshman Kwane Hayle took home Landmark Indoor Track Co-Athlete of the Year honors and shared Co-Rookie of the Year honors with teammate Peter Kerns.

The USMMA men's track & field team is coming off of a third place finish at the 2013 Landmark Indoor Championship and hopes to continue to build on its success. The Mariners will be without All-Conference performer Mickel McGann while he is at sea, but return other members of the team from sea.

Juniata College was picked fourth in the poll with 23 points while the Catholic University of America and Goucher College tied for fifth with 17 points apiece.

The 2012-13 season kicks off on Saturday when Juniata travels to Lynchburg College for the Dr. Jack Toms Invite. Moravian's first meet of the outdoor season is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 22nd and 23rd when the Greyhounds head to the Washington & Lee (Va.) University Carnival. Goucher will host the Landmark Championships April 27-28.
