Greyhounds Rally Past FDU-Florham on the Road

MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian University field hockey team rallied from an early one goal deficit to post a 2-1 victory at FDU-Florham in non-conference action Tuesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Devils opened the scoring eight and a half minutes into the contest with a goal on a penalty corner
  • The Greyhounds answered roughly two minutes into the second quarter as senior midfielder Sarah Bietka put in a pass from senior midfielder Maria Tice on a penalty corner
  • Moravian took the lead about six minutes into the second half when senior defender Onalee Long found the cage on another penalty corner with the feed from Tice

Inside the Numbers

  • Bietka's goal was her first of the season and the ninth of her career while Long scored her first marker of 2023 as well for her fourth career goal
  • Tice notched her first two assists of the year and her career
  • Freshman goalie Maia Machado registered four saves in the win for the Hounds
  • Moravian finished the night with a 12-6 advantage in shots and an 8-6 edge in penalty corners
