Greyhounds Set for 2020 Opener at Delaware Valley University on February 22

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse squad is set to open its 2020 season on Saturday, February 22 when the Greyhounds head to Delaware Valley University for a non-conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Fifth-year Head Coach Dave Carty, who is beginning his 18th season as a college head coach, returns 25 student-athletes from last season's team that posted an 8-7 record.

Coach Carty has four of his top six scorers from a year ago back in 2020 led by senior attack Cade Siddron, who had 38 goals and 22 assists las season while adding 25 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Junior attack Connor Hull contributed 15 goals and seven assists to go along with eight ground balls while senior midfielder Austin Adams added 14 goals, three assists and 15 ground balls last spring. Sophomore attack Connor James netted 12 goals to go with 17 ground balls in 2019 while junior midfielder Matt Comini had seven goals and four assists.

Senior midfielder Brandon Sisk scored five goals last season while senior attack Kevin Darling added four goals and an assist. Junior midfielder Timothy Dwyer found the goal twice while sophomore Nick Nolder had one goal and two assists a and sophomore attack Griffin LeBlond added a goal and an assist. Sophomore midfielder Kevin Berlin dished out two assists while senior midfielder Peter Degnan netted one goal.

Senior long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke returns after earning All-Conference honors for the third consecutive year in 2019 with spots on the First Team in 2017 and 2019 and the Second Team in 2018. Schicke had a team-leading 53 ground balls last spring to go with 27 caused turnovers, one goal and three assists. Junior defender Tanner Leslie made the Landmark All-Conference First Team last spring after 46 ground balls, 22 caused turnovers and a goal. Senior defender Brian Anthony contributed five ground balls while senior defender Brian Darling adds depth on the back end.

Coach Carty will also look to sophomore midfielder Ben Walek, who was 17-for-40 on face-offs last spring to go with nine ground balls, sophomore midfielder Zach Bergeron, sophomore long stick midfielder Liam Dugan, sophomore defender Nathan Hannis, junior attack Connor Sablich, junior long stick midfielder Trevor Green and junior face-off Max Towers to provide experience and depth this season.

The Greyhounds have a pair of returning goalies this spring. Junior Will Dadouris was 1-0 last season with 34 saves and an 8.19 goals-against average in 191 minutes of action. Senior MacLean Lincoln did not play in goal a year ago but has seen 364 minutes of action during his career with 64 saves and a 3-2 mark.

Moravian has added 11 players to the squad for the 2020 campaign as Coach Carty looks to challenge for a Landmark Conference postseason berth.
