BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College Athletics is proud to announce a fundraising campaign to help fund the construction of locker rooms in the Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse.
At Moravian, we are always trying to improve our experience for our student-athletes. Our locker room facility for outdoor sports, specifically those played on the beautiful John Makuvek Field, has been constructed underneath the Fitness Center in the Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse. This new state of the art locker room, with a players' lounge, helps us show our current student-athletes that we are investing in them. It is also be a game-changer for recruiting top student-athletes and continuing our tradition of excellence in Moravian Athletics.
The new area is composed of four home locker rooms utilized by the men's and women's soccer, field hockey, men's and women's lacrosse and softball programs. In addition, there are two visiting team locker rooms, locker rooms for officials and a student-athlete lounge.
One of the most impactful opportunities to contribute to the locker room project is by naming a locker. You can do so by sponsoring a locker for a contribution of $500. We will recognize your generosity by affixing a personalized plaque on the front of the locker. Special gifts may be made in honor, recognition, or memory of individuals. Locker sponsorships can be made online at www.moravian.edu/locker-room or by reaching out to Matt Nesto '16, Assistant Director of Annual Giving, at nestom@moravian.edu.
"The atmosphere that our new locker room gives off is something special. It takes us to the next level. Being a Division III women's lacrosse program, we especially appreciate the emphasis that the college has put on our athletic experience by providing us with brand new locker room," stated junior women's lacrosse attack Breanna Federico.
"It gives us the opportunity to have our own space and grow as a team. We're more prepared for games and practice because we have the space to focus and bond as a program," commented senior men's lacrosse goalie MacLean Lincoln.
"I believe that with the new and improved locker rooms, it impacts the program as more than just a locker room. It is where the team is before and after practices and games, and where forever memories are made. It's where you get hype before a game and celebrate after a win. Where you grow together after a loss or practice. With the new locker rooms, that we are so lucky to have, it is motivation that we are not only playing for each other or Moravian but all those that paved the way for us and made these new locker rooms possible for us and future greyhounds. Moravian is family and as a member of the Women's Soccer team, the locker room is a big part of what makes our culture so great and so incredibly strong. Also as much as we love each other it is definitely nice to have some more room. Go Hounds," said junior women's soccer player Ashley Hutchinson.
