Top 10 Stories of 2018-19 - #4 Women's Tennis Captures Landmark Conference Title and First-Ever NCAA Tournament Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2018-19 athletic campaign. The seventh entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 4 highlight – the women's tennis team winning the 2019 Landmark Conference Championship and earning the program's first-ever NCAA Division III Tournament victory.

The Greyhounds, under the direction of first-year Director of Tennis Aaron Wilf, set a program record for victories by posting a 20-2 mark, and the Hounds were also 7-0 during the Landmark Conference regular season. The Blue and Grey defeated Goucher College, 5-0, in the Landmark Conference Semifinals before posting a 5-2 victory over The University of Scranton in the Landmark Conference Championship match. Both postseason matches were played indoors at Lehigh University's Lewis Tennis Center due to the weather. The top-seeded Greyhounds have now won four Landmark Conference Championships and a total of 12 conference titles.

Moravian would head to Middlebury (Vt.) College for the NCAA Division III Tournament where the Greyhounds topped Cairn University, 5-0, in the opening round for the program's first NCAA Tournament win in its third NCAA appearance. The Hounds would fall to the host Panthers in the second round to end the season. During the year, the Blue and Grey posted eight 9-0 victories, and the squad's only other setback besides the NCAA Tournament was a 5-4 decision during the spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Wilf was honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year while junior Eiman Nazif and sophomore Emma Angle were named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team in singles action. Junior Lauren Steinert and sophomore Brooke Adams were selected to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in singles while Steinert and sophomore Mary Angle made the Second Team as a doubles tandem.
