Top 10 Games Of 2019-20 - #4 Football Rallies For 17-16 Win Over Franklin & Marshall

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2019-20 athletic campaign. The next event in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 4 highlight – the football team rallying for a 17-16 victory over Franklin & Marshall College at Rocco Calvo Field.

The Greyhounds, in the countdown for the second time, were in the midst of winning four of five games last fall, and the victory over the Diplomats was the Hounds' second straight, fourth quarter comeback.

On a sunny Calvo Field on November 2, Moravian and Franklin & Marshall played a scoreless first quarter before the Diplomats took a 3-0 lead 1:17 into the second quarter. The Blue and Grey took the lead just over three minutes later when sophomore quarterback Christopher Mills hit junior wide receiver Nick Petros with an eight-yard touchdown pass.

The Greyhounds extended the lead to 10-3 when freshman Trevor Yacuboski connected on a career-long field goal of 42 yards with 43 seconds left in the half. However, F&M hit on a long pass to knot the The Diplomats scored the only points of the third quarter on a touchdown run but the lead would only be six points with junior linebacker Tanner Barr blocking the extra-point.

In the fourth quarter with just over four minutes remaining, Mills found sophomore wide receiver Cory Little wide open in the end zone for a five-yard touchdown reception, and Yacuboski's extra-point gave Moravian a 17-16 edge. F&M would drive into field goal range but the 26-yard field goal attempt sailed wide right as time expired to preserve the Greyhounds' victory.
