Top 10 Stories of 2018-19 - No. 3 Men's & Women's Track & Field Teams Sweep Landmark Conference Championships for Ninth Time

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2018-19 athletic campaign. The eighth entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 3 highlight – the men's and women's track & field teams sweeping the Landmark Conference Indoor and Outdoor Championships for the ninth time in the conference's 12-year history.

The squads, led by Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann, who along with his assistants earn the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year both indoors and outdoors for men and women, have won a total of 45 out of a possible 48 Landmark Conference Championships.

The men won their tenth straight indoor title and 11th overall on February 23 at Susquehanna University with a 21-point edge over Elizabethtown College. The Greyhounds had six individual event winners in the meet. Senior John Spirk was named the Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. The men then captured their fifth straight and 11th overall outdoor title on May 5 at Goucher College by 32 points over Elizabethtown. The Greyhounds had five individual event champions including Spirk being honored as named the Male Outdoor Track of the Year after winning the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles each for the fourth straight year to go along with the title in the 400-meter dash. The women won their second consecutive and the program's 11th overall indoor title after a 37-point win over Elizabethtown. The Greyhounds produced five event champions and a pair of relay winners led by senior Anna Osman, who ran in eight races during the day, winning four including the 60-meter hurdles and 400-meter dashes individually as well as the 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays. Osman was honored as the Female Indoor Track Athlete of the Year while freshman Natalie Stabilito was selected as the Women's Co-Rookie of the Year after a runner-up finish in the 800-meter run. The women then won their 12th straight outdoor title by finishing with a 31-point edge over the Blue Jays. The Greyhounds had four individual event winners and two relay champions outdoors.
