Top 10 Stories of 2018-19 - #7 Five Moravian Head Coaches Earn Landmark Conference Coach of the Year Honors.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2018-19 athletic campaign. The fourth entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 7 highlight – five head coaches earning Landmark Conference Coach of the Year honors.

At the end of each season, the coaches in the Landmark Conference vote on the Landmark All-Conference teams as well as the major award winners including Coach of the Year. Moravian had five of its head coaches garner eight Landmark Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2018-19.

Last fall, first-year Head Men's Soccer Coach Bob Wilkinson was honored as the Landmark Conference Co-Coach of the Year after leading the Greyhounds to a 7-9-2 mark that saw the Blue and Grey go 4-3 during the conference's regular season schedule as Moravian qualified for the Landmark Conference Semifinals for the first time in the 12-year history of the conference.

Director of Tennis Aaron Wilf also garnered a Landmark Conference Coach of the Year honor in his debut season at Moravian after leading the women's tennis team to a 20-2 record, a perfect 7-0 Landmark Conference slate, the 2019 Landmark Conference Championship and a berth in the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championships where the Hounds won their first NCAA Tournament match before the season came to a close in the second round.

Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Dave Carty was named the Landmark Conference Coach of the Year for the first time in his four seasons at Moravian after guiding the Greyhounds to an 8-7 record this past spring.

Head Softball Coach John Byrne was selected as the Landmark Conference Coach of the Year for the sixth time in the conference's 12-year history, and Byrne, who has a career mark of 853-249 in 26 seasons, earned his tenth conference coach of the year honor.

Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann helped the men's and women's track & field teams continue their dominance in the Landmark Conference with the Greyhounds having won 45 of a possible 48 conference titles over the last 12 years including all four again in 2018-19. Baumann was honored as a four-time Landmark Conference Coach of the Year this year, earning the honor for both the men and women at the indoor and outdoor championship meets. Baumann has been selected as a Landmark Conference Coach of the Year 25 times in his career, eight times indoors for men, six times indoors for women, six times outdoors for women and five times outdoors for men.
