New Moravian Hall of Fame Inductee - Jeff Pukszyn

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Jeff Pukszyn '98, an All-Conference football player, is being inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame on October 11, 2019 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Pukszyn, a 1998 Moravian graduate, was a standout on the football gridiron for three seasons after transferring from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Pukszyn was a three-year starter on the defensive line while earning All-Middle Atlantic Conference First Team honors in 1994 and 1996. He finished his playing career with 118 tackles including 12 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, five fumble recoveries, two interceptions and three passes defended.

Pukszyn moved from the field to the sideline when he joined the Moravian coaching staff in 1997 as an assistant coach. He was named the Greyhounds' head coach in 2011 after ten years as associate head coach.

Pukszyn is being joined by softball student-athlete Maria DeBonis Braxmeier '09; women's soccer player Tracy Fitzpatrick Franklin '09; men's tennis student-athlete Jason Toedter '04 and men's track & field competitor Nathaniel Tussey '08 in the class of 2019 that will be inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2007 softball team that Braxmeier played on and the 2005 women's soccer squad that Franklin participated on will also be inducted on October 11 while Gene Medei '61 will receive the Robert Martin Herbstman Award.
