TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference has named 44 student-athletes including four from Moravian College to the 2019-20 Winter All-Sportsmanship Team. The All-Sportsmanship Team includes one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team.
The All-Sportsmanship Team recognizes student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship. The student-athletes selected demonstrate fair play, graciousness in victory and respectfulness in defeat. They are ambassadors for the team, both on and off the field, and galvanize their teammates toward their goals. These student-athletes exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, spectators, and the greater campus community.
The All-Sportsmanship Team was created by the Landmark Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in 2013 as a way to highlight student-athletes who are making an impact. The Landmark previously awarded a Sportsmanship Cup before the All-Sportsmanship Team replaced the Cup for the 2013-14 academic year.

Men's Basketball
Senior forward John Hargraves helped the men's basketball team to its fourth straight postseason appearance with a berth in the Landmark Conference Semifinals and a 14-12 overall record. Hargraves started all 26 games this season and averaged 6.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game to go along with 23 steals, 21 blocked shots and 12 assists. He had 373 points, 210 rebounds, 45 blocked shots, 31 steals and 26 assists in 72 career games as he missed his entire sophomore season and the final 11 games of his junior year with injuries.
"John Hargraves has been the consummate teammate and competitor over his four years at Moravian," said Head Men's Basketball Coach Shawn Postiglione. "He has excelled on and off the court, and has always represented our program in a first-class manner. We are grateful for John's contributions and wish him all the best."
Women's Basketball
Senior Karlie Brogan was a starting guard for the women's basketball team that completed the season with a 15-11 record as Moravian made its 19th consecutive postseason appearance with a trip to the Landmark Conference Semifinals. Brogan, who is on the Landmark All-Sportsmanship Team for a second straight year, started all 26 games this winter and had averages of 6.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game to go along with 53 assists, 44 steals and 17 blocked shots. She finished her career with 897 points, 620 rebounds, which ranks 14th in school history, 184 assists, 180 steals, 83 three-pointers and 55 blocked shots in 106 games.
"Karlie exemplifies the meaning of sportsmanship," commented Women's Basketball head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "A two-year captain, she is a leader on and off the court among her teammates. Karlie treats her teammates and coaches, as well as opposing players, in a fair and respectful manner. She has given four tremendous years to our program and this recognition is a direct reflection of Karlie competing and succeeding the "right" way."
Track & Field
Sophomore distance runner Dominic DeRafelo has been a key contributor to the Greyhounds capturing two Landmark Conference Indoor Championships during his career. Last weekend, DeRafelo ran a leg of the 4x400-meter relay that won in 3:30.22 to earn All-Conference First Team honors and secure the Hounds' 11th straight Landmark title. He also placed 12th in the 800-meter run during the meet.
Junior jumper and hurdler Jenevieve Eberly helped the Greyhound women win their third consecutive Landmark Conference Indoor title, which was also the program's 12th championship in the last 13 indoor seasons. Eberly finished third in the long jump with a leap of 5.13 meters (16-10), fourth in the triple jump at a PR of 10.20 meters (33-5.75) and sixth in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles after running a PR of 9.97 seconds in the preliminaries as she scored points in all three events at last weekend's Landmark Indoor Championships.
"Dom and Jen are both great representatives of Moravian, certainly as very strong students and athletes here, but they're both very good people who exemplify what it means to be good sports," explained Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jesse Baumann. "Dom is studying to be a teacher along with serving as an RA here and Jen is a nursing major so for both of them, they need to be good-natured people to serve in those roles and the way they conduct themselves on the team or at track meets reflects this. They're both very supportive, kind-hearted, even-keeled people, who know how to draw the line between being competitive, yet respectful towards their competitors."
