Greyhounds Drop 2020 Season Opener at Delaware Valley University

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse squad dropped its 2020 season opener at Delaware Valley University Saturday, falling by a 15-9 score in non-conference action.

Senior attack Cade Siddron led the Greyhounds with four goals and three assists while junior attack Connor Hull had three goals and an assist to go with a pair of ground balls. Sophomore attack Griffin LeBlond netted the Hounds' other two goal while senior midfielder Brandon Sisk and freshman midfielder Shane Cassel each had one assist with Cassel scooping up four ground balls.

Sophomore midfielder Ben Walek was 9-for-26 on face-offs with three ground balls while junior defender Tanner Leslie and senior defender Brian Darling both had a team-high four ground balls with Leslie adding a pair of caused turnovers. Senior long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke, freshman midfielder Brennan Harhart and junior midfielder Max Towers all had a pair of ground balls.

Senior MacLean Lincoln made the start in goal for the Greyhounds with six saves and a pair of ground balls in 45 minutes of action while junior Will Dadouris stopped four shots in 15 minutes in goal.

The Aggies scored the first four goals of the match before Siddron scored with 16 seconds left in the first quarter to make it a 4-1 contest after 15 minutes of action. LeBlond and Siddron netted goals early in the second quarter before Delaware Valley netted another three goals to lead 7-3 at the intermission.

Delaware Valley added two more goals to start the third quarter, and the Aggies scored five times total in the period while Siddron netted one goal and Hull scored twice for a 12-6 Delaware Valley lead after 45 minutes. Each team scored three times in the final quarter.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Wednesday, February 26 in a non-conference match at Rosemont College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
