Greyhounds Race Past Rosemont For First Win of 2020 Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse team jumped out to a 15-1 halftime lead on its way to a 24-3 non-conference victory at Rosemont College Wednesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, now 1-1 on the season, had 12 different players score a goal led by senior attack Cade Siddron, who had four goals and three assists. Sophomore attack Connor James netted four goals while junior attach Connor Sablich had three goals and an assist and sophomore attack Griffin LeBlond had a hat trick.

Senior midfielder Austin Adams contributed two goals and an assist while senior midfielder Brandon Sisk had two goals. Senior attack Kevin Darling and sophomore midfielder Nick Nolder each scored a goal and an assist while senior long stick midfielder Cade Siddron, freshman attack Zach Coppol, freshman attack Matt Burke and sophomore midfielder Kevin Berlin all netted one goal with Schicke scooping up three ground balls.

Sophomore midfielder Brennan Harhart and junior midfielder Max Towers each contributed an assist with Towers going 10-for-13 on face-offs with six ground balls. Sophomore midfielder Ben Walek was 10-for-17 on face-offs with five ground balls while junior defender Tanner Leslie contributed five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Harhart, Darling, sophomore long stick midfielder Liam Dugan and freshman midfielder Shane Cassel all had two ground balls.

Senior MacLean Lincoln made the start in goal and had one save in the first 15 minutes of action while senior goalie Will Dadouris stopped both shots he faced in 15 minutes. Freshman goalie Sean DeMott recorded three saves in the final half of the match.

LeBlond opened the scoring before Siddron scored once and James tallied two goals for a 4-0 lead. LeBlond scored again with 15 seconds left in the first quarter as Moravian lead 5-1 after 15 minutes of action. The Hounds then netted 10 goals in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 15-1 at the intermission. After Rosemont scored the first two goals of the third quarter, the Blue and Grey scored nine more times before the end of the contest.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 29 when the squad hosts Centenary (N.J.) University in the team's home opener on John Makuvek Field beginning at 1:00 p.m.
