BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The third seeded Moravian University men's soccer squad fell to sixth seed Elizabethtown College, 2-0, in a Landmark Conference Tournament First Round match on John Makuvek Field Tuesday evening to end the 2024 season.
How It Happened
- The Blue Jays scored the first goal of the game on a corner kick in the 34th minute
- Elizabethtown added another marker six minutes later on a loose ball in the box to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission
- The Greyhounds dominated the stats in the second half as they pushed to get on the scoreboard, finishing the evening with a 13-6 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in corner kicks
Inside the Numbers
- Junior goalie Casey Prajzner recorded one save in the contest
- Moravian was playing just its sixth home postseason match and first on the artificial turf of John Makuvek Field. The contest was the Greyhounds' first home conference playoff match since a 3-1 win over Swarthmore College on November 2, 1983 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Southern Final
- The last time the Blue & Grey hosted a postseason match was on November 13, 2002 with a 3-2 overtime victory over Widener University in the ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament
- The Hounds are now 4-2 at home in the postseason including 2-1 in ECAC action and 2-1 in conference tournaments
