BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team opened its 2024 Landmark Conference season with a 1-1 draw versus The Catholic University of America on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored the opening goal of the match in the 44th minute as freshman forward Joey Roth put a shot inside the right post off a pass from sophomore midfielder Rafi Sanjuan for a 1-0 lead at the intermission
  • Catholic evened the score in the 57th minute with an unassisted goal
  • Both teams put shots on goal in the final 33 minutes; however, neither squad was able to get a shot past the goalies to break the stalemate
  • Each team earns a point for the tie in the Landmark Conference standings. The last time Moravian had earned at least a point against Catholic came back on October 15, 2016 when the Hounds defeated the Cardinals 3-1 on John Makuvek Field
