BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad remained unbeaten in Landmark Conference action while securing a berth in the 2024 Landmark Conference Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Elizabethtown College Wednesday evening on John Makuvek Field.
How It Happened
- The squads played a scoreless first half with the Hounds holding a 7-4 advantage in shots and the Blue Jays having a 3-2 edge in corner kicks
- Moravian looked to have taken a lead in the 50th minute but the squad was called offsides on a corner kick as the ball sailed into the net
- The Blue Jays nearly went ahead in the 65th minute; however, junior goalie Casey Prajzner tipped the ball away from the upper right corner
- The Greyhounds scored the lone goal of the match in the 70th minute. Sophomore midfielder Max Teneza took a free kick and sent the ball to sophomore midfielder Giuseppe Propato on the right side of the 18-yard box. After making a move around a defender, Propato lifted the ball towards the goal where sophomore defender Aidan McMillan headed the ball into the right side of the net
Inside the Numbers
- McMillan's goal was his first career goal while Propato earned his fourth assist of 2024 and fifth of his career
- Prajzner recorded three saves for his fifth shutout of the season
- The Blue & Grey had a 14-10 advantage in shots while the Blue Jays held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks
- The victory for Moravian was the first over Elizabethtown since October 7, 2006 when the Hounds posted a 1-0 win in Elizabethtown. The Blue Jays had been on a 10-0-3 run against the Greyhounds
