COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad dropped a 2-1 decision to host Ursinus College Tuesday evening in the Greyhounds final non-conference match of the 2024 season.
How It Happened
- The Bears scored the opening goal in the fifth minute on a rebound shot
- Ursinus extended the advantage to 2-0 just 25 seconds into the second half
- The Hounds had an opportunity to score in the 57th when graduate student Reed Sturza took a penalty kick; however, the shot was saved
- Moravian got onto the scoreboard in the 81st minute as senior midfielder Kyle Weiss knocked in a shot off passes from senior forward Ben Scary and freshman forward Joey Roth
Inside the Numbers
- Weiss netted his first goal of the season and fourth of his career
- Scary registered his third assist of 2024 and fifth of his career while Roth posted his third assist of the fall
- Graduate student goalie Christian Beebe recorded three saves
- Moravian had a 23-12 advantage in shots including 12-5 on goal, and the Blue & Grey had a 7-5 edge on corner kicks
