Karlie Brogan Named Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior guard Karlie Brogan has been named the first Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the 2018-19 season after her performance last week.

Brogan netted a career-high 21 points as she scored more than a third of the Greyhounds' points in a season-opening 58-45 non-conference victory at Albright College last Thursday. Brogan was 8-for-14 from the floor and 3-for-3 beyond the three-point line in the win, and she also led the Hounds with eight rebounds to go with a pair of assists in 32 minutes of action. The game was the 21st time in Brogan's career that she has scored in double figures but the first time to surpass 20 points.

"Karlie had a great start to the season at Albright," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk, who is in her 32nd season leading the program. "She is one of the hardest workers on the team. She also had a great off season in terms of work ethic and improvement in her game. We hope Karlie continues to lead and achieve success on and off the court as the season progresses."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, November 14 when the squad opens its 2018-19 home season with a non-conference matchup versus Penn State Lehigh Valley in Johnston Hall with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
