Junior Maddie Capuano Honored as Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior guard Maddie Capuano has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Capuano, who earned her second Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honor of the season, helped Moravian to a 2-0 week by averaging 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game on the road in Landmark Conference action. She also shot 14-of-25 from the floor, 4-for-8 on three-pointers and 13-for-14 at the foul line while moving up to 15th in school history with 1,146 career points. Capuano had 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and a pair of blocked shots in 25 minutes of action in a 75-62 victory at Drew University last Wednesday. She then added 25 points, five rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in 33 minutes in Moravian's 80-55 win at Juniata College.

"The team had two good games last week to put us back in the hunt for a play-off position" noted Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "Maddie was exceptional in both games. We are going to need her to remain consistent over these final two weeks of the regular season. Maddie's ability to score from long range as well as off the dribble makes her difficult to defend. She has also stepped up her defensive intensity, which has led to more success in our team defense as well. This is another nice honor for Maddie and we are hoping for continued success."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to begin a three-game home stand on Wednesday, February 6 when the squad hosts nationally-ranked The University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference game starting at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
