Moravian Women Set to Tip-Off Abbreviated Season at Lancaster Bible on January 30

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's basketball team is slated to begin its abbreviated 2020-21 season on Saturday, January 30 when the Greyhounds head to Lancaster Bible College for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off.

The Hounds have nine regular season games scheduled at this time with the trip to Lancaster Bible as the only non-conference contest and the first-ever meeting between the programs, and the Greyhounds' other eight games against Landmark Conference opponents. Moravian will play home-and-home games with The Catholic University of America, Drew University, Juniata College and The University of Scranton between February 5 and February 27. All five teams will make the Landmark Tournament with a play-in game set for March 2 followed by the semifinals on March 4 and championship on March 6.

Leading the Greyhounds for the 34th season is Head Coach and Director of Athletics Mary Beth Spirk, who has a 610-296 career record. Coach Spirk returns 11 players that helped the squad to a 15-11 overall mark last year including the program's 19th straight postseason appearance.

-Since 1979-80, the Greyhounds are 733-357, a 67.2 winning percentage with 38 winning seasons in 41 years

-The Hounds 2020 senior class accounted for 3,963 points and 2,002 rebounds over the last four years with three players (Brogan, Capuano & Ewald) all starting for four seasons

-Coach Spirk has led the Hounds to 19 consecutive postseason appearances and a total of 31 postseason berths
