TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore guard Madison Amy has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week while freshman forward Sam Osorio has been selected as the Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for their performances last week.

The duo helped the Greyhounds to a 1-1 mark in Landmark Conference action in the final week of the abbreviated 2021 regular season as Moravian clinched the fourth seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament. Moravian finished the shortened regular season with a 5-4 record.

Amy averaged 19.0 points per game while shooting 13-for-29 from the floor and 8-for-18 beyond the arc. She played 72 of a possible 80 minutes during the week and added five rebounds, five steals, seven assists and just three turnovers in the two games. Amy had 13 points in a 72-51 loss at The University of Scranton. She then had a career-high 25 points in a 77-68 win at Drew University, and Amy added a career-best six assists to go with four steals, four rebounds and a 7-for-11 performance beyond the three-point line as she became just the third player in school history to make at least seven three-pointers in a game at Moravian.

"Madison put together a complete game last week," noted Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "We knew she could score from the perimeter, but Madison was driving to the basket, dishing out assists and getting tips and steals on the defensive end as well. She has worked hard at improving her game from last season and this award demonstrates that hard work does pay off. Congratulations to Madison."

Osorio, who earned Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after garnering the initial award on February 8, averaged 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds during the week. She shot 9-for-21 from the floor and 7-for-10 at the foul line, and Osorio averaged 23.5 minutes per game with a pair of steals. She had seven rebounds and six points in 19 minutes at Scranton. Osorio then had her second career double-double including a career-high 19 points and 11 rebounds at Drew where she played 28 minutes and shot 7-for-14 from the floor and 5-for-6 at the foul line.

"Sam continues to get better and better as she gets more comfortable with the college game," Spirk said. "As an undersized post player, Sam has figured out how to use her athleticism and keen sense of finding the ball to rebound on both ends. She can score and get to the rim on the offensive end as well. Well-deserved honor for Sam, congratulations."

The fourth seeded Greyhounds are scheduled to host fifth seed Juniata College in a Landmark Conference Tournament Play-In game on Tuesday, March 2 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
