SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's basketball squad dropped a 72-51 decision at The University of Scranton in Landmark Conference action Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • Sophomore guard Madison Amy scored off of a rebound just 17 seconds into the game, and a three-pointer from sophomore guard Morgan Amy had the Blue and Grey up 5-2. Moravian's lead would be back at three points, 15-12, after a three-pointer from junior guard Kayla Yoegel at the 3:16 mark, but Scranton finished the quarter with a 6-0 run to lead 18-15 after 10 minutes of action
  • The Royals also scored the first four points of the second period before a lay-up from Madison Amy snapped the Hounds' drought. Scranton would go on to extend its advantage to 15 points before a lay-up from freshman forward Sam Osorio and a three-pointer by Madison Amy in the final minute of the quarter cut the deficit to 38-28 at the intermission
  • The Greyhounds were limited to just six points in the third quarter with Yoegel connecting on two free throws at the 2:36 points for Moravian's first points of the second half. The Blue and Grey trailed 54-34 after three quarters
  • Moravian netted the first eight points of the fourth period to pull within 54-42 on two more free throws from Yoegel at the 6:20 mark. However, the Hounds had just nine points the rest of the contest while the Royals scored 18 points over the final 6:04 of the contest

Firsts for the Hounds

  • Senior forward Raquel Lopez de Boer netted her first two points of the season on a pair of free throws late in the contest

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian had two players in double figures, the Amy twins with Madison scoring a team-high 13 points and Morgan adding 10 points
  • All 16 Greyhounds in uniform saw at least two minutes of action in the game with nine different Hounds scoring at least two points
  • The Hounds forced Scranton into 17 turnovers while only committing 14 turnovers
  • The Blue and Grey were 18-for-24 at the foul line (75.0 percent) including 15-of-20 in the second half, and it is the seventh time in eight games that the Hounds have been over 70 percent at the charity strike this season. The 18 made free throws ties a season high while the 24 attempts are the most by Moravian in a game this winter
