HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's lacrosse team clinched the second seed in the upcoming 2023 Landmark Conference Tournament with an 18-9 victory at Juniata College in conference action Saturday.
How It Happened
- The Eagles opened the scoring before back-to-back goals from senior midfielder Megan Donnelly put the Greyhounds in the lead for good. Graduate student attack Brittany Bill added a goal before Juniata found the net again. Bill added one more marker as the Blue & Grey left 4-2 after 15 minutes of action
- Donnelly and Bill netted early goals in the second quarter while the Eagles scored three times in a four-minute span with Bill scoring once more. Sophomore midfielder Madi Dippel had back-to-back goals for the Hounds before Juniata scored the final goal of the half to make it 9-6 Moravian at the intermission
- The Greyhounds put in five of the six goals scored in the third quarter with Bill scoring three times, Donnelly adding a pair and Dippel contributing one goal as Moravian stretched the advantage to 14-7 after 45 minutes of play
- Donnelly found the net again to start the fourth quarter, and the Blue & Grey received goals from senior attack Devin King, sophomore midfielder Alex Cherenson and sophomore attack Jackie Salvatore in the period
- The Hounds clinched the second seed with the victory and The Catholic University of America's 11-9 win over The University of Scranton on Saturday

- Moravian had seven different players score a point with Bill netting seven goals to go with an assist, six draw controls, three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers
- Donnelly contributed five goals and four draw controls while Dippel had three goals, two assists, four ground balls, three draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers
- King and Salvatore each had a goal and an assist with Salvatore adding four ground balls and four caused turnovers while Cherenson added a goal, three caused turnovers and two ground balls
- Graduate student Eliza Fantazzi recorded an assist while senior attack Kendall Lomascola had three ground balls and two caused turnovers and freshman midfielder Gianna Lotito added a pair of ground balls and two caused turnovers
- Senior goalie Rylee Soltis made six saves in 36 minutes of action while senior goalie Brelyn Friedman added a pair of saves in the final 24 minutes of play
- Moravian had a 44-23 advantage in shots, a 25-22 edge in ground balls, an 18-13 lead in draw controls ad was 15-for-16 on clearing attempts
