Moravian Women Set to Host Scranton in 2023 Landmark Conference Semifinal on May 3

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's lacrosse squad has earned the second seed in the 2023 Landmark Conference Tournament and will host third seed The University of Scranton in a semifinal match on Wednesday, May 3 beginning at 4:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.

Admission to Wednesday's match is $7 for adults and $4 for minors ages 10-17 and seniors 62 and older. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID. All ticketing will be done online at https://landmarkconference.org/sports/2022/4/25/championships-tickets.aspx?path=champs, and there will be no cash accepted on site.

Second-year Head Coach Caroline Pape has led the Greyhounds to a 12-5 record including eight consecutive victories, and she has guided the program to its fifth consecutive Landmark Conference Tournament. Moravian has faced Scranton in the Landmark Conference Semifinals in each of the last four tournaments, falling 24-13 in 2022 19-7 in 2021, 20-12 in 2019 and 17-10 in 2018; however, this year's postseason match-up will be the first between the squads at John Makuvek Field. When the Greyhounds and Royals met earlier this season, Moravian defeated Scranton for the first time in program history with a 16-10 win in Scranton, snapping an 18-match losing streak to the Royals.

Graduate student attack Brittany Bill leads the team 90 points with a team-high 76 goals to go along with 14 assists, 20 ground balls, 68 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers. Sophomore attack Jackie Salvatore has 85 points on 40 goals and 45 assists to go with 35 ground balls, 29 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers while senior midfielder Megan Donnelly has contributed 44 goals, nine assists, 84 draw controls, 36 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers, and Donnelly surpassed 100 career goals in the regular season finale.

Senior attack Devin King has 26 goals, 20 assists, 16 ground balls, four draw controls and four caused turnovers while sophomore midfielder Alex Cherenson has recorded 33 goals, two assists, 36 ground balls, 32 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers. Sophomore attack Madi Dippel has 26 goals, four assists, 29 draw controls, 34 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers while senior attack Kendall Lomascola has added 13 goals, 15 ground balls and nine caused turnovers.

Graduate student attack Eliza Fantazzi has seven goals, four assists and a pair of caused turnovers while freshman midfielder Gianna Lotito has posted three goals, five assists, 23 ground balls, nine caused turnovers and two draw controls. Freshman midfielder Victoria Salica has two goals, three assists, seven ground balls and six caused turnovers while senior midfielder Emily Hoskin has four goals, 26 ground balls, six draw controls and 12 caused turnovers and junior defender Keara Reilly has a pair of goals, 36 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers.

Junior defender Alise Downey has recorded an assist, 20 ground balls and six caused turnovers while junior defender Salome Carr has scooped up 15 ground balls and caused seven turnovers. Sophomore midfielder Isabella Ziccardi has eight ground balls and three caused turnovers and sophomore defender Leah Hoskin has five caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Senior goalie Rylee Soltis has recorded a 12-5 mark, 109 saves, a 12.48 goals-against average, 23 ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in 736 minutes of play while senior goalie Brelyn Friedman has made 31 saves and has seven ground balls and a 9.28 goals-against average in 284 minutes.

The winner of Wednesday's semifinal match will advance to the championship round of the tournament, which will be played on Saturday, May 6 at the highest remaining seed. Wednesday's other semifinal features top seed The Catholic University of America hosting fourth seed Susquehanna University at 4:00 p.m.
