WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis squad began its 2024-25 Landmark Conference campaign with a 7-0 victory at Lycoming College Saturday.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds won all three doubles contests to capture the doubles point in the new seven-point match format. The tandem of sophomores Katherine Georgiou and Sydney Shifman opened the match with a 6-1 win at third doubles while junior Izzy Szmodis and sophomore Leah Zolotareva posted a 6-2 triumph at first doubles to earn the team point. Freshmen Ali Willis and Nicole Kalorin won 6-3 at second doubles to complete the sweep
- Zolotareva began singles action with a 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles while Shifman recorded a 6-0, 6-2 victory at third singles. Szmodis registered a 6-3, 6-0 victory at second singles before Willis posted a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at fourth singles to clinch the match. Kalorin earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at fifth singles, and freshman Jenna Gower completed the sweep with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 at sixth singles
