TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore Leah Zolotareva has been named as the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
Zolotareva helped Moravian to a victory over DeSales in the team's first match of 2024-25. She combined with junior Izzy Szmodis for a 6-4 win at first doubles, and Zolotareva had a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at first singles.
"Leah delivered an outstanding performance this weekend in both doubles and singles," noted Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. "In their first doubles match together, Leah and Izzy showed great chemistry and put on a strong display. I'm excited to see how they develop as a team. In singles, Leah was dominant on the court and played exceptionally well."
Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, September 28 when the squad hosts FDU-Florham in a non-conference match beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Hoffman Courts.
