Men's Soccer Adds New Assistant Coach

BETHLEHEM, PA – Men's soccer head coach Todd Ervin added Philip Blake to the coaching staff for the 2011 season.

As an undergraduate, Blake played soccer for Coastal Carolina University (2008-10). He also played at Mercer Country Community College in 2007 and was named NJCAA Region XIX Division I Defensive Player of the Year. He was named to the NSCAA All-Academic Team in 2009 and 2010.

Blake, who is a member of the NSCAA, most recently worked at the University of California, Santa Barbara as the Director of Operations for the men's soccer team. He was also a senior coach at Coerver Coaching Company where he teaches groups different soccer skills.

Blake worked as the director of community programs for the 2010 NCAA Men's Division I College Cup, and he was also an assistant coach at the University of California, Santa Barbara for its Winter ID Camp. Prior to that, he was the academic advisor for the men's soccer program at Coastal Carolina University.

In addition, he is a United States Soccer Federation Referee. Blake is also has a level one NSCAA goalkeeping license. He is also CPR and AED certified.

Blake graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in recreation and sports management, and a minor in communication in December 2010.
