Greyhounds Erase Two-Goal Deficit to Win 3-2

The Moravian College men's soccer team rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to post a 3-2 non-conference victory over Keystone College in a match played at Dunmore High School Wednesday evening.

The Giants jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 1:54 into the match when freshman midfielder Jonathan Pineda tapped in a loose ball inside the penalty box. Keystone extended its lead to 2-0 in the 20th minute on a goal by junior forward Ryan Ehrhardt off of a drop pass from sophomore defender Anthony Michlik.

The Greyhounds picked up a pair of goals before the intermission from freshman forward Brian Bieszard. Bieszard netted his first career goal in the 32nd minute off of a through ball by junior midfielder/forward John Pavia. Bieszard would score again just 1:15 later on a shot from just outside the 18-yard box.

Moravian would net the game-winning goal in the 80th minute when sophomore midfielder Eric Paone headed in a crossing pass from sophomore midfielder/defender Greg Hargrave. The goal was Paone's team leading fifth of the season.

Keystone had a 16-8 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. Greyhound junior goalie Mike Brand made three saves in 45 minutes of action while freshman Ethan Arner had two stops in 25 minutes. Freshman keeper Ryan Deuber finished the final 20 minutes in goal for the Greyhounds in his first collegiate action. Sophomore goalie Dany O'Rourke had two saves for the Giants.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 15 in a Landmark Conference match at The United States Merchant Marine Academy starting at 6:00 p.m.
