Paone Scores Two Goals, Greyhounds Roll Over Lancaster Bible

The Moravian College men's soccer defeated Lancaster Bible College Monday afternoon, 4-3. Sophomore Eric Paone led the way for the Greyhounds, netting two goals.

Paone got Moravian on the board early in the first half when he netted his third goal of the season off of a punt from junior goalie Mike Brand. Sophomore Jeffrey Algor put the Greyhounds up 2-0 when he scored off a pass from senior Mark Casagrande. The Chargers would bring to score to, 2-1, just two minutes later when senior Cory Greiser netted his first goal of the season. Moravian would take that 2-1 lead into halftime.

Paone would start off the second half with his second goal of the game off a rebound from Casagrande, also his second assist of the day. Lancaster Bible would strike back when junior Sean Westerlund scored to bring the Chargers within one. Two minutes later junior John Pavia would cross a pass to freshman Shane McCaslin who would net his first collegiate goal. Lancaster Bible would add one more goal, but the Greyhounds would hold on to win.

Brand made six saves to secure his second victory of the season.

The Greyhounds outshot the Chargers 23-13 and held the corner kick advantage, 7-0.

Moravian is back in action Saturday, October 1 when they take on conference rival Drew University at the HUB Quad. The game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
