The University of Scranton men's soccer team scored four second half goals to post a 4-0 Landmark Conference win over visiting Moravian College Wednesday evening.

Senior forward Nick Glavan gave the Royals a 1-0 lead just nine seconds into the second half as he tapped the ball in the goal off of passes from junior midfielder Patrick Daley. Shortly after the goal, Moravian would have its best scoring opportunity of the match when sophomore forward Jeffrey Algor fired a shot on goal that was saved by Scranton freshman goalie Tomasz Marczak.

Scranton would stretch its lead to 2-0 in the 70th minute when sophomore midfielder Brandon Barrett scored on a shot from seven yards out on the right side off of a pass from freshman forward Kevin Kozic. Junior midfielder Bill McGuiness would set up another goal in the 81st minute when senior midfielder Joseph Burbella found the back of the net. Freshman defender Ryan Beaudoin would score off of a rebound in the 88th minute with an assist freshman defender Mark Stellwag.

The Royals had a 37-2 advantage in shots and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks. Moravian junior goalie Mike Brand, pictured, had a career high 15 saves in the contest while Marczak had one save for Scranton. For Brand, it was his fourth match of the season with ten or more saves.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, October 22 when the squad hosts Goucher College in a Landmark Conference match starting at 12:30 p.m. It will be Senior Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Day for the soccer teams on Saturday.
