Sophomore forward Chris Barbosa netted a pair of goals to help lead the SUNY Cortland men's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over host Moravian College on the HUB Quad Saturday in the second day of the Moravian/Muhlenberg Tournament.
The Red Dragons jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a long shot by junior midfielder Steffen Jude in the 11th minute. Sophomore midfielder John Recordon would push the Cortland lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute when he scored off of a free kick from 38 yards. Barbosa's firstgoal came in the 62nd minute on an unassisted tally.
Moravian would get on the scoreboard in the 64th minute when junior midfielder/forward John Pavia took a through ball from sophomore midfielder Eric Paone and scored the Greyhounds' first goal of the season.
Barbosa finished off the scoring with another unassisted goal in the 75th minute. Cortland had a 21-12 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks in the match. Freshman goalie Brian McNicholas had two saves and the Red Dragons also had a team save. Moravian junior keeper Mike Brand had eight saves.
