The Moravian College men's soccer team shutout Rosemont College Monday afternoon, 3-0. Sophomore Eric Paone led the way for the Greyhounds netting two goals.
Moravian didn't get on the board until late in the first half when sophomore Greg Hargrave fed a pass to Paone who lobbed a shot from 20 yards out for the goal.
The Ravens kept the contest close until the 74th minute when freshman Lewis Cooper scored off a corner kick, assisting on the play was sophomore Jeffrey Algor and junior John Pavia. The Greyhounds would put in a third goal just one minute and ten seconds later by Paone, his second, assisting was Pavia, his second assist, and freshman Brian Bieszard.
Junior goalkeeper Mike Brand made three save and didn't allow a goal in his 88:42 minutes of work. Freshman goalie Ethan Arner made his collegiate debut today.
Moravian out-shot Rosemont 17-13, but Rosemont held the corner kick advantage 8-5.
The Greyhounds return to action Wednesday, September 21 when they travel to Delaware Valley College for a non-conference game. The contest is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
