Hounds Ranked No. 14 in Final 2015 NFCA DIII Top 25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Moravian College softball team moved up three spots to finish the 2015 season ranked 14th in the nation in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll of the year.

The Greyhounds, the 2015 Landmark Conference Champions, finished the spring with an overall record of 38-8, the second most victories in school history. Moravian won the NCAA Division III Rochester (N.Y.) Regional, the program's fourth regional title, before advancing to the Super Regionals at DePauw (Ind.) University.

The Hounds received 80 points in the poll, moving up from 17th in the poll prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament on May 6. Head Coach John Byrne, who earned his 700th career win on April 25, led the program to its 16th 30-win season in the last 22 years and two winning streaks this year of at least 14 games.

Moravian played No. 7 DePauw three games in the Super Regional, defeating the Tigers, 6-5 in eight innings, in the opening game before falling 9-6 and 10-7. The Blue & Grey also had a doubleheader sweep of Ramapo College of New Jersey, 7-1 and 11-3 in five innings, as the Roadrunners received votes in the final poll.
