Hounds Open Action at USTA-ITA Southeast Regional

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team competed in the opening day of action at the 2014 United States Tennis Association-Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional hosted by The University of Mary Washington Saturday.

The Greyhounds had two singles players advance to their semifinals of their flights with a pair of victories. Junior Courtnie Lambert is in the semifinals of the Blue 4 Singles after a straight sets win over Leanne Smithers from Bridgewater College in the opening round and another straight sets victory over Janine Jones from Grove City College in the quarterfinals.

Freshman Caitlin Adams opened the tournament with a straight sets win over Maddie Williams from Grove City in the Blue 7 Singles bracket, and Adams advanced to the semifinals with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Allie Boissonneault of Washington College in the quarterfinals.

The second day of action at the USTA-ITA Southeast Regional will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
