Women's Tennis Tops Drew, 6-3, in Landmark Action

MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team won its second Landmark Conference match of the season and evened its overall mark at 7-7 with a 6-3 win at Drew University in conference action Wednesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds led 2-1 after the doubles action. Sophomores Brittney Eady and Roberta Scantlebury had an 8-1 win at first doubles for Moravian while senior Sophia Osbourne and junior Courtnie Lambert posted an 8-4 victory at second doubles in the first match as a tandem this season. The Hounds were down a player due to illness and would forfeit matches at third doubles and sixth singles to give the Rangers two points.

Osbourne won her second singles match, 6-1, 6-0 to extend Moravian's lead to 3-1 while freshman Caitlin Adams would make it 4-1 with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at fourth singles. Eady secured the team with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at first singles while Lambert finished off the match with the 30th singles win of her career, taking her third singles match, 6-4, 6-0.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 18 when the host Susquehanna University in another Landmark Conference match at Hoffman Courts beginning at 1:00 p.m.
