Greyhounds Blank Arcadia, 9-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team won its second straight dual match to start the 2014-15 season by sweeping Arcadia University, 9-0, in non-conference action at Hoffman Courts Thursday afternoon.

"I felt it was a solid team effort," stated Head Coach Art Smith. "We played very aggressive in doubles, and our singles play was consistent from numbers 1-6."

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches by the score of 8-1. Sophomore Brittney Eady and junior Brijelle Hudock combined for a victory at first doubles while senior Sophia Osbourne and freshman Skylar Oliwa teamed up for a win at second doubles. Junior Courtnie Lambert and freshman Caitlin Adams earned a victory at third doubles for the Hounds.

Moravian then won all six singles matches in straight sets with Osbourne, Lambert and Oliwa all winning by 6-0, 6-0 scores at third, fourth and fifth singles. Eady posted a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at first singles while Hudock had a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles. Adams rounded out the lineup with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at sixth singles.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to close out the fall portion of their 2014-15 season on Monday, October 6 when the squad welcomes Albright College to Hoffman Courts for a 4:00 p.m. non-conference match.
