BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's lacrosse squad has named senior defenders Salome Carr and Keara Reilly and junior attack Jackie Salvatore as captains for the 2024 season.

"Jackie, Keeks, and Sal have been great leaders of our team, vocally and by example, throughout their careers," stated third-year Head Coach Caroline Pape. "They all bring focus, dedication, effort, and high levels of knowledge about the game each day. Their attitudes and skills made them great choices for captains."

The trio will lead a group that includes 12 student-athletes that were part of the Hounds' 12-6 squad last spring that hosted a Landmark Conference Semifinal match.

Reilly is serving as a team captain for the second straight season. Last year, Reilly earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team after contributing 37 ground balls, 32 caused turnovers and a pair of goals. She has started all 48 matches in her career for the Hounds with three goals, 77 ground balls, 54 caused turnovers and three draw controls.

Salvatore was honored on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team last spring for the second straight year, and she was the 2022 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year. Salvatore had 42 goals, 45 assists, 35 ground balls, 29 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers a year ago, and she has started all 37 matches in her career with 82 goals, 69 assists, 61 ground balls, 38 draw controls and 27 caused turnovers.

Carr started 17 of 18 matches last season while recording 16 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. She missed her first two seasons while recovering from injuries.

The Greyhounds, who are 0-1 this season, are set to host No. 10 The College of New Jersey in a non-conference contest on John Makuvek Field on Saturday, February 24 at 1:00 p.m.
