Hounds Fall at No. 12 TCNJ

EWING, N.J. --- The Moravian University women's lacrosse squad fell to No. 12 The College of New Jersey, 23-6, in non-conference action Wednesday.

How It Happened

  • The Lions scored the first six goals of the match before senior midfielder Alex Cherenson scored for the Greyhounds. Sophomore attack Melissa Elefonte also netted a first quarter goal; however, TCNJ led 9-2 after 15 minutes of action
  • Sophomore midfielder Bailey Leatherman and freshman midfielder Ella Steirer both had goals in the second quarter for the Blue & Grey as the Lions took a 16-4 lead into the intermission
  • Senior midfielder Madi Dippel and senior attack Jackie Salvatore each had one goal for the Hounds in the fourth quarter

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian had six players record a point with Salvatore contributing a goal and three assists to go with two draw controls
  • Dippel and Elefonte both had a goal and an assist with Dippel adding five draw controls while Cherenson had a goal and two caused turnovers
  • Steirer and Leatherman each netted one goal while freshman midfielder Kathryn Hunsinger recorded a pair of draw controls
  • Junior goalie Kayla Graef registered two saves in the first half of the contest while sophomore goalie Elle Burd had five saves in the second half
