Moravian Plays to Scoreless Draw in Non-Conference Action versus Widener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad and Widener University played to a scoreless draw in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field as the University hosted Family Day Saturday afternoon. 

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds and Pride played a scoreless first half with Widener taking two shots on goal and Moravian with just one
  • In the second half, the Blue and Grey attempted just one shot which was saved and both squads earned a pair of corner kicks, but the match resulted in a 0-0 draw
  • Under the new NCAA rules, overtime is only played in the postseason, so the match ended in a tie after the regulation 90 minutes

Inside the Numbers

  • The Greyhounds earned the edge in corner kicks by one, 4-3, but were outshot by Widener 7-4
  • Junior goalie Paige Harrison recorded two saves while playing the first 45 minutes of the contest while junior goalie Payce Korpics also registered two saves in the second half
