HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad began the 2022 Landmark Conference season with a 1-0 victory on the road at Juniata College Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds got on the scoreboard just 15:06 into action as senior forward Emma Lenthe put the ball in the net
  • Neither team was able to find the net during the remainder of the half or throughout the second half of action

Inside the Numbers

  • Lenthe's marker was her first goal of the season and the second of her career with the Blue & Grey
  • Junior goalie Payce Korpics made the start in goal for the Hounds, and she had three saves while recording her first career solo shutout after playing all 90 minutes
  • Both squads took seven shots in the contest, and the Hounds finished with a 7-6 edge in corner kicks

Quotable from Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk

  • "We earned a conference win on the road when we didn't play our best. Our backs and Payce in goal did a tremendous job to earn the shutout."
  • "I was really happy to see Emma score and we created some great opportunities, but just couldn't finish the second one."

Up Next for the Greyhounds

  • Wednesday, September 28 at Eastern University, 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 1 vs. Susquehanna University, 4:00 p.m.
