BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with visiting Ursinus College in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute as freshman forward Elliot Rupp put a loose ball into an open net for a goal. Junior midfielder Amanda Aloia sent in a long shot after a corner kick that needed to be saved, and the ball dropped behind the Bears' keeper and to the feet of Rupp for the first goal of the evening
- The Bears answered in the 36th minute on a breakaway after a corner kick was saved at the other end of the field for Moravian to even the score at 1-1, and that is where the contest stood at the intermission
- The Hounds moved back in front just under five minutes into the second half when senior forward Emma Lenthe headed a crossing pass from sophomore defender Kylie Hughes between the goalie's legs to give the Blue & Grey a 2-1 advantage
- Ursinus answered just five minutes later to even the contest at 2-2 in the
- Neither team was able to find the net with the winning goal throughout the remainder of the match
Inside the numbers
- Rupp's goal was the first of her career with the Greyhounds while Aloia recorded her first point at Moravian
- Lenthe netted her second goal of season and third of her career while Hughes collected her first career assist
- Junior goalie Payce Korpics recorded three saves in the first 45 minutes of the match while junior keeper Paige Harrison posted four saves in the second half
- The Bears had a 15-5 advantage in shots and a 5-4 edge in corner kicks
