Late Goal by Rupp Lifts Greyhounds Past Lancaster Bible in Final Non-Conference Match of 2022

LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute to post a 1-0 shutout at Lancaster Bible College Wednesday evening in the Greyhounds' final non-conference match of the 2022 season.

How It Happened

  • The squads played a scoreless first half with Moravian holding a 10-3 edge in shots in the opening 45 minutes of action
  • The Blue & Grey nearly got on the scoreboard in the 82nd minute when senior forward Emma Lenthe was awarded a penalty kick; however, the Chargers goalie came up with the save
  • The Hounds finally broke through 42 seconds later in the 83rd minute when freshman forward Elliot Rupp put a shot into the net

  • Rupp's goal was her second of the season
  • Junior goalie Payce Korpics played the first half of the contest and made one save while junior keeper Paige Harrison recorded six saves in the final 45 minutes to earn the victory
  • Moravian finished the evening with a 22-12 advantage in shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks
