Greyhounds Hosting 2nd Annual Strikeout Prostate Cancer Blue Out on Saturday, April 8

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- On Saturday, April 8, the Moravian College baseball team will host its Second Annual Strikeout Prostate Cancer "Blue Out" in an effort to raise money and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The Greyhounds will take the field for a Landmark Conference doubleheader versus Susquehanna University. Game 1 is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m., with game 2 to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opening contest at Gillespie Field at Moravian College. All fans are encouraged to wear light blue to the games, as that is the official color of Prostate Cancer Awareness.

All of the proceeds from the event and t-shirt sales during the week prior will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The baseball team has partnered with The Athletes for a Cure™ division of the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The Athletes for a Cure™ initiative is a fundraising and awareness program of the Prostate Cancer Foundation that helps athletes as they play, run, bike, walk or race for a cure. All money raised by Athletes for a Cure™ directly supports the Prostate Cancer Foundation by funding the world's most promising research for discovering better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

In addition to collecting donations at the game versus Susquehanna, the baseball team will be selling t-shirts, 3/4 sleeve baseball style shirts and blue silicone bracelets in the Haupert Union Building each day on April 6-7. Shirts and bracelets can be purchased at the game on Saturday as well.

If you cannot attend the game, but still wish to aid in the team's efforts to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer, please make a donation on the team's page: https://give.athletesforacure.org/fundraise?fcid=886708.

The goal for the event by the Greyhounds is for $5,776 to be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation/Athletes for a Cure.
